At least four people are reported to have been injured in a shooting that took place in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Gunfire was reported from Berlin’s Kreuzberg district at about 4 AM local time.

The Prosecutor General’s office has linked the shooting to organized crime.

The shooting took place close to the headquarters of the center-left Social Democratic Party (SDP).

According to the BBC, the injured are in the age group of 30 and 42 and were taken to the hospital where they were treated for gunshot wounds.

DW reported that one of the injured was pulled out of a canal, while three others were found in a driveway.

A murder investigation team has taken over the case. A manhunt in underway with armed police officers searching the neighborhood on foot and by helicopter.
